Our staple, our bestseller, and most importantly, your favorite fruit wine. Black Currant Wine has a distinctive aroma, so you’ll recognize it even with your eyes closed. It tastes exactly like freshly picked black currants because it’s not fortified. This means we didn’t add any wine distillate or neutral alcohol, so the currant flavor is authentic.

How to Drink Black Currant Wine

Drink it however you like. You can sip it all evening (chilled or at room temperature) or enjoy it by the glass over several days. Fruit wine is best stored at room temperature. But it’s also refreshing with a few ice cubes.

In winter, we swear by its mulled version. Heat Black Currant Wine to about 60 degrees Celsius (once it starts to foam, it shouldn’t boil!) and you have a perfect mulled wine. Just be sure not to add cinnamon or cloves, as it would throw the flavor off balance!

Black Currant Wine pairs excellently with red meats (especially steaks), Emmental-type cheeses, fish, fried schnitzels, and cottage cheese cakes. This wine will literally elevate your dinner to perfection. Be careful with poppy seeds, though, as Black Currant Wine tastes strange with them. It’s also a perfect wine for cooking. It’s a great substitute for cherry in Central American recipes and is versatile in Czech and Slovak cuisine. For example, beef cheeks braised in Black Currant Wine are absolutely divine!
