About Currant wine

Our mainstay, our bestseller, and most importantly your favorite fruit wine. Currant wine has a distinctive aroma, which means you can recognize it even with your eyes closed. It tastes exactly like freshly picked currants because it's not diluted. This means we haven't added any wine spirit or neutral alcohol. So the currant flavor is genuine.

How to drink currant wine

Drink Currant wine simply as you like it. You can sip it all evening (chilled or at room temperature) or savor it over several days by the glass. Just store it at room temperature. With a few ice cubes, however, it's pleasantly refreshing.

In winter, we can't resist the mulled version. Heat the currant wine to about 60 degrees Celsius (when it starts to foam, don't let it boil!) and you have a perfect mulled wine. Just without cinnamon and cloves, the taste would be very unbalanced!

Currant wine perfectly complements the flavor of red meats (especially steaks), Emmental-type cheeses, fish, fried steaks, and cheesecakes. This wine will literally elevate your dinner to perfection. Be careful with poppy seeds, they make Currant wine taste strange. Currant wine is an excellent cooking wine. It's a great substitute for cherry in Central American cuisine recipes, and it's also versatile in Czech and Slovak cuisine. For example, beef cheeks cooked in Currant wine are absolutely orgasmic!

Packaging, storage, and shelf life

Currant wine is bottled in a 0.75 l glass bottle. We use a high-quality cork as a cap. We recommend storing Currant wine in a cool, dark place - direct sunlight is not good for it. The shelf life is 12 months from the date of delivery. An opened bottle will keep for several days in the refrigerator, but once opened, we recommend drinking Currant wine the same evening to not miss out on all the wonderful flavors and aromas.
